What it means
The card has been handed to USPS. USCIS's part is finished and progress now depends on the postal service. In most cases this status includes a USPS tracking number you can follow.
When it usually appears
Within days of card production, once the physical card has left the USCIS production facility.
How long it usually lasts
Domestic delivery usually takes 3-10 business days; holidays or address problems extend that.

Track the shipment on the USPS website and make sure the delivery point is secure, arranging pickup at your local post office if needed. If tracking shows delivered but nothing arrived, ask the local post office first, then contact USCIS. If the shipment is returned, a Card Was Returned As Undeliverable status appears and you must update the address and request re-mailing.
